Tyra Banks may have left the runway behind for a seat in the boardroom.
The former America’s Next Top Model host will replace Ivanka Trump as a Celebrity Apprentice adviser when the competition series returns with Arnold Schwarzenegger for the 2016-17 season, Us Weekly reports.
Back in August, NBC president Richard Greenblatt made clear that Donald Trump, the current GOP frontrunner for president of the United States, would “absolutely not” ever reclaim his chair as Apprentice host — a stance that would seem to preclude any of the wannabe POTUS’ progeny from continuing to participate. One month later, Schwarzenegger was announced as the new terminator of apprentices.
For Banks, the gig comes just weeks after exiting daytime talker FABLife (which was subsequently cancelled), and less than two months after the demise of Top Model, which ended in December after a 22-season run.
NBC, which has not yet commented on Us Weekly‘s report, is expected to announce the celebrity roster for the upcoming season later today. A premiere date has not been announced.
