Kevin James' New CBS Sitcom Casts Taylor Spreitler as 'Radicalized' Spawn

Taylor Spreitler

Look out Kevin James — your new TV daughter’s got a mind of her own.

Melissa & Joey‘s Taylor Spreitler has joined CBS’ straight-to-series Untitled Kevin James Project as Kendra, James’ former people-pleasing daddy’s girl who has been radicalized by college and now has her own independence and point of view.

The multi-cam sitcom, which received a 13-episode order from CBS and is slated to debut during the 2016-17 season, finds King of Queens vet James playing a retired cop looking forward to spending more quality time with his wife and three kids, only to discover he faces a tougher time at home than he did on the streets.

In addition to starring, James will write and serve as an exec producer alongside fellow King Of Queens EP Rock Reuben.  Sitcom vet Bruce Helford will serve as showrunner.
