Hugh Laurie Drama Chance Picked Up for Two Seasons at Hulu

The doctor is in (deep doo-doo) at Hulu.

Hugh Laurie‘s drama series Chance — based on Kem Nunn’s novel of the same name — has scored a two-season, 20-episode order at Hulu, launching in 2016. Our sister site Deadline broke the news.

Laurie (House, M.D.) will play the titular role of Eldon Chance, a forensic neuropsychiatrist who embarks on an affair with a femme fatale suffering from multiple personality disorder — only to learn her ex-husband is a dangerous homicide detective.

Chase’s behind-the-scenes team will include Laurie and Nunn — as well as showrunner Alexandra Cunningham (Desperate Housewives, the U.S. version of Prime Suspect), producer Michael London (The Astronaut Wives Club) and director Lenny Abrahamson (Room).

Since House ended its eight-season run in 2012, Laurie played a pivotal role on Season 4 of Veep and filmed AMC’s forthcoming event series The Night Manager.
