Big Little Lies: Adam Scott, Laura Dern Join HBO's Upcoming Limited Series

Big Little Lies Adam Scott

HBO’s web of Lies has snatched up some very familiar faces.

Parks and Recreation vet Adam Scott and Enlightened alum Laura Dern have boarded Big Little Lies, the pay cabler’s limited-series adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s 2014 novel.

The project, which is being written by David E. Kelley (Ally McBeal), centers on three mothers  — to be played by Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and potentially Shailene Woodley — whose seemingly perfect lives unravel… to the point of murder.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Scott will play Ed Mackenzie, the stable and loving husband to Madeline (Witherspoon), while Dern will portray Renata Klein, a powerful career woman and anti-bullying crusader.

Additionally, Kathryn Newton (Gary Unmarried) has signed on to play the daughter of Witherspoon’s character, according to TheWrap.
