Stephen Colbert addressed the multiple shootings and explosions in Paris Friday that left 129 people dead in an emotional moment on Friday night’s The Late Show.
The short but heartfelt acknowledgement came at the close of the hour.
“Folks, we end tonight’s show with a heavy heart because we taped all of tonight’s show and then we found out about the horrific attacks in Paris today,” Colbert said.
“We add our thoughts and prayers to everyone in Paris, and now, um, we’ll see you on Monday, um,” the clearly affected host continued, before taking a deep breathe and adding a solemn, “Goodnight.”
