Shondaland Nanny Drama

Shondaland, Scandal Stars Developing Nanny Dramedy for ABC

Scandal‘s own Kerry Washington and Katie Lowes are among the executive producers on board for a comedic drama about nannys being developed for ABC by Shondaland.

Per our sister site Deadline, CSI: NY alum/onetime Private Practice guest star Bess Wohl will pen the project, which is described as “an edgy and comical upstairs-downstairs look at the insanity of modern child-rearing,” focusing on a clique of young nannies and the interconnected families for which they toil. (Devious Au Pairs?)

Fun fact: Lowes herself somewhat famously once worked as a nanny for Connie Britton.

Both Wohl and Lowes’ actor-husband Adam Shapiro also will serve as exec producers on the as-yet-untitled project.

Earlier this month, Shondaland put into development Still Star-Crossed, a “follow-up” to Romeo and Juliet’s tragic tale.

  1. Luis says:

Taking odds now on whether the first scene shows that nanny gets interrupted having sex with the father by crying on the baby monitor

  2. Matt C. says:

Can we get a breakdown of how many projects Shondaland currently has in development? The nuns, the nannies, Romeo & Juliet…am I missing any? I feel like there’s been so many pilot announcements lately.

  3. Julia says:

Shonda might as well take over as the head of programming/development for ABC. Clearly she is running the entire network.

  4. Steven says:

    Definitely sounds like Devious Babysitters.

  5. Lizo says:

At some point ABC is going to be *all* Shonda shows right? Not that I’m complaining.

  6. BB says:

Sounds like the perfect summer companion for Mistresses!

  7. Except Connie Britton doesn’t have children, so why would she have a nanny?

  8. tsevca says:

Sounds like Devious Maids. Shonda is losing what made her if she´s copying show several seasons old.
