Adam Levine and Maroon 5 Eyed for 2016 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Adam Levine Super Bowl 50 Maroon 5

Voice coach Adam Levine and his band, Maroon 5, are the frontrunners for Super Bowl 50’s halftime gig, E! Online reports.

According to the site, the Grammy-winning pop band has had “extensive talks” about providing entertainment during the biggest football game of the year.

Other acts rumored to have been in the running include Bruno Mars, who performed during the 2014 Super Bowl, and Coldplay.

Katy Perry did the honors (complete with dancing sharks, a giant golden lion and, of course, fireworks) in 2015.

The 2016 big game will be broadcast on CBS from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Sunday, Feb. 7.
