NBC Sunday Night Football’s coverage of the Giants’ loss to the Cowboys drew 24.5 million total viewers and a 9.2 demo rating, up 15 percent from last year’s Colts-Broncos match-up and marking the top-rated SNF Sunday opener since 2012.
The overnight ratings also best the Giants/Cowboys’ previous two SNF season kickoffs, in 2013 and 2007.
Up against the ol’ pigskin, ABC’s Miss America telecast (7 mil/1.5) was steady in audience year-over-year but down two tenths in the demo.
CBS’ Big Brother is currently looking at 6.8 mil/2.1, though those numbers are subject to deflation due to NFL overrun. Check back later in the event I get industrious and post an update.
