Game of Thrones Season 6: Babadook Actress Cast... as Cersei?!

Game of Thrones Essie Davis

Game of Thrones is getting another lean, mean queen.

Australian actress Essie Davis, who played beleaguered mom Amelia in the horror film The Babadook, will join the HBO series in Season 6, EW.com reports.

Davis reportedly will play Cersei Lannister — but don’t worry, Lena Headey isn’t going anywhere. Davis will don the queen regent’s blonde wig as part of a Braavosi theater troupe’s dramatization of the goings-on in King’s Landing.

Other Season 6 castings include Richard E. Grant (Downton Abbey), Freddie Stroma (UnREAL), Pilou Asbæk (The Borgias) and Max von Sydow (Minority Report).

Davis’ resumé features roles in the Australian crime drama Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, two Matrix movies and the Australian version of The Slap.
