The best [expletive] news team ever has a few new members.
Desi Lydic, Roy Wood Jr. and Ronny Chieng will be correspondents when The Daily Show returns — with new host Trevor Noah — on Sept. 28, Comedy Central announced Wednesday.
Lydic plays high school guidance counselor Valerie on MTV’s Awkward. She also has had roles on The Odd Couple, The Client List and Two and a Half Men, among other series.
Wood portrayed Roy on TBS’ Sullivan & Son. Chieng is an up-and-comer in the Australian stand-up comedy scene.
The rest of the correspondent roster — Jordan Klepper, Hasan Minhaj, Jessica Williams, Lewis Black, John Hodgman, Al Madrigal, Aasif Mandvi and Kristen Schaal — remains intact.
“I’m so excited to welcome these new members of the Daily Show team. Now I get to share my stress with other new people,” Noah said in a statement.
