Showtime on Thursday released the full-length trailer for Homeland‘s upcoming fifth season, and this much is clear: Carrie is once again in over her head.
The drama’s fifth season — set to debut on Sunday, Oct. 4 — picks up two years after the Season 4 finale. Struggling to reconcile her guilt and disillusionment with years of working on the front lines in the “war on terror,” Carrie finds herself in a self-imposed exile in Berlin, estranged from the CIA and working as the head of security for a German philanthropist.
The nearly three-minute preview initially offers us a glimpse of a happily domesticated Carrie before teasing this season’s A-story, which appears to involve a pair of hackers and a data breach in Berlin. Also? It looks like Carrie and Quinn finally do the deed.
Joining Claire Danes and fellow Homeland vets Rupert Friend, F. Murray Abraham and Mandy Patinkin in Season 5 are Sebastian Koch, Miranda Otto, Alexander Fehling and Sarah Sokolovic.
