Chicago Med is in need of a new boss, STAT.
Showrunner Andrew Dettmann is exiting the Chicago Fire spinoff before it ramps up production, TVLine has confirmed.
Dettmann, who took the reins at Chicago Med in June, is departing due to creative differences. A replacement has not yet been named, but the NBC series has a robust group of executive producers, including Chicago Fire/PD showrunner Matt Olmstead.
“Andrew Dettmann won’t be continuing as an executive producer on Chicago Med,” NBC and Universal TV said in a joint statement. “The network and studio value their relationship with Andy and plan to continue to work on other projects together.”
Earlier this month, Laurie Holden — who was set to play ER surgeon Dr. Hannah Tramble — parted ways with the series, citing family reasons.
Chicago Med stars S. Epatha Merkerson (Law & Order), Yaya DaCosta (Ugly Betty), Nick Gehlfuss (Shameless), Oliver Platt (Fargo), Colin Donnell (Arrow), Brian Tee (Grimm), Torrey DeVitto (Pretty Little Liars) and Rachel DiPillo (Jane the Virgin). It premieres Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 9/8c.
