NBC better have her money.
Pop star/provocateur Rihanna will serve as key advisor for The Voice in Season 9, it was announced Thursday by Peacock network president Robert Greenblatt at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills.
Over the last three seasons, fun. frontman Nate Ruess, Taylor Swift and Coldplay’s Chris Martin have mentored contestants from all four teams during the second set of one-on-one showdowns (historically called the Knockout Rounds or Battle Rounds Pt. 2) — a broader role than the quartet of mentors who step in to advise individual coaches’ teams in the first set of Battles.
The previously announced Season 9 coaching lineup includes Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani.
Excited that Rihanna’s found a job in a hopeful place such as The Voice? Sound off in the comments!
