Fade in on a girl with a husband named Frumpkis…
Smash star Megan Hilty will recur on Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce as southern belle Charlene, the woman married to Jo’s oft-referred-to ex, Robert Frumpkis.
The series, which announced the casting Tuesday, also is adding Mad Men alum Aaron Staton and Homeland‘s Maury Sterling to its Season 2 cast.

Sterling will play Frumpkis himself — who comes to Los Angeles to be closer to his daughter — while Staton will play JD, a new love interest for one of the ladies. Both roles are recurring.
Hilty’s previous TV work also includes Sean Saves the World and Melissa and Joey.
In addition to playing Mad Men‘s Ken Cosgrove for seven seasons, Staton’s TV credits include The Good Wife and Person of Interest. Sterling has appeared in Extant, 24 and ER, among other series.
Hilty, Sterling and Staton join a cast roster that includes previously announced Season 2 additions Retta (Parks and Recreation), Mark Valley (Fringe) and Jean-Luc Bilodeau (Baby Daddy).
