Vampire Diaries Video: Chris Wood Weighs in on 'BonKai,' Is Sorry About Jo

With the Vampire Diaries season finale now just hours away (The CW, 8/7c), TVLine sat down with the ultimate wedding crasher — sorry, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, but Chris Wood makes you guys look like amateurs — to discuss Kai Parker’s wild Season 6 ride.

There’s really nothing we didn’t touch on in the interview, from Wood’s biggest Kai-related regret to his favorite one-liner. Naturally, we also had to discuss “BonKai,” arguably the weirdest ‘ship in TVD history — though I’m pretty sure fans ‘shipped several characters with Ms. Cuddles, so that’s totally up for debate.

Plus, will tonight’s finale bring Kai’s story to a completion… or is there a chance we could see him again in Season 7? (He is, after all, working with TVD EP Julie Plec on Containment in Atlanta!)

Hit PLAY on the video above for Wood’s thoughts on all things Kai, then drop a comment with your own below:

    Great interview Andy.
I hope Kai gets to guest star once or twice in S7 that’s if he survives…he’s this season’s best character by far.
Not too sure about Containment though, it seems like Under the Dome..but I will def be tuning in.
God! Chris Wood is hot….U not bad either Andy :)

Great interview, Chris was a wonderful addition to the show. Sad to see him go. He gave Kai more depth than the writing allowed and was probably the best villain since Klaus before he started drawing pictures of ponies. He also got increasingly hotter as the season progressed, lol. I’m excited to see what he’s going to do next. I wasn’t that interested in watching another one of Julie Plec’s shows, but I might at least give Containment a try for Chris.

With regards to people shipping Kai and Bonnie, I don’t really see what makes it so weird when taking into account what show we’re watching, lol. This is the same show that had Damon kill Jeremy in front of Elena and rape Caroline, yet Delena was basically the main couple. Damon killed Bonnie’s mother and choked Bonnie a few weeks ago, but people ship Bamon. Not to mention all the things that Klaus has done, yet people still ship Klaroline. While I don’t ship any of the aforementioned couples, as I’ve never really shipped any couples on this show, I don’t have a problem with people doing so, because these are the circumstances of this show. So it’s strange to me how Bonkai is thought of as an exception. So what if people see something in the chemistry between the actors – which I personally thought was really strong – and want to see them interact more? Isn’t that essentially what shipping means? Enjoying chemistry and wanting more? ;)

So it’s done?! Like that? Chris wood is not coming back and there will be no Bonkai?:-( hate the writers.
So, when does season 7 come out after all? Is the date fixed?
