Something hinky’s been going on with American Idol the last couple weeks — and not just Harry Connick Jr.’s unfortunate attempts at “comedy.”
On this week’s all new (low-budget) installment of Reality Check — be forewarned, our producer Jason Averett is off this week, so there’s no performance footage or fancy editing — my co-host Melinda Doolittle and I try to figure out what ill wind has been blowing through The House That Made Possible Adam Lambert’s Epic “Ghost Town.”
Did Quentin Alexander deserve the boot — or should he have won the Twitter Save over Rayvon Owen? Or should another finalist have been sent to the guillotine? Melinda and I debate these questions — and also consider whether Clark Beckham’s presumed coronation could be spoiled by Nick Fradiani or Jax.
We’re not skimping on The Voice, either. On the docket: Koryn Hawthorne and Kimberly Nichole’s dominance of Top 10 week; our problem with front-runner Sawyer Fredericks’ latest song choice; and the vocal meltdown of several early faves, including Joshua Davis.
