Richard Dreyfuss to Star in ABC's Bernie Madoff Miniseries

ABC’s latest casting news is so good, it’s criminal.

Oscar winner Richard Dreyfuss has been tapped to star as Bernie Madoff in ABC’s newly greenlit miniseries about the jailed financier, our sister site Deadline reports.

Inspired by The Madoff Chronicles, a book from ABC News correspondent Brian Ross, Madoff reportedly will chronicle the rise and fall of the disgraced stockbroker, who in 2009 was sentenced to 150 years in prison for operating a $65 billion Ponzi scheme.

Though Dreyfuss is best known for his work on the silver screen — including a Best Actor win for the 1978 film The Goodbye Girl — his TV credits include roles on Parenthood and Weeds.
