Living legends Rihanna and Kanye West on Sunday welcomed up-and-coming recording artist Paul McCartney (who?!) to the Grammy Awards stage for a performance of the trio’s laid-back hit “FourFiveSeconds.”
A far cry from the loud, boisterous and occasionally crotch-grabby fare we’re accustomed to seeing from RiRi and West, this performance found the superstars presenting toned-down versions of themselves as they harmonized alongside the Beatles great.
(Just kidding! There was still so much crotch-grabbing.)
The song was initially released just a few weeks ago, setting the internet ablaze with mostly positive reviews from surprised critics and fans of all three artists. And following this performance — which marked the song’s live television debut — it’s hard to imagine “FourFiveSeconds” not earning even more radio spins.
Earlier in the evening, West also performed — and danced majestically to — “Only One,” a tribute to his late mother that he co-wrote with McCartney.
