Ratings: Empire Hits Even Higher Notes, Stalker Ticks Up, ABC and NBC Dip

Empire Ratings Hit

That happy tune Fox was singing a week ago? It just got louder.

The musical-drama Empire this Wednesday drew 10.3 million total viewers and a 4.0 demo rating, rising 4 percent and two tenths from its already-strong debut.

Opening Fox’s night, American Idol (10.7 mil/2.9) dipped just 3 percent and a tenth from last Thursday’s batch of auditions. Week to week, it was down 4 and 9 percent.


CBS | The Mentalist (9.4 mil/1.3) added a few eyeballs while steady in the demo. Criminal Minds (10.2 mil/2.2) and Stalker (7.8 mil/1.5) both returned up in viewers plus a tenth in the demo.

NBC | Mysteries of Laura (6.3 mil/1.1) dipped 7 percent and two tenths (to a series low), SVU (6.8 mil/1.3) slipped 13 percent and three tenths and Chicago PD (6.7 mil/1.5) was down 10 percent and a tenth.

ABC | The Middle (7.8 mil/2.2) and black-ish (6.6 mil/2.0, a series low) each dipped one tenth, while The Goldbergs (7.2 mil/2.3) and Modern Family (9.3 mil/3.0) both slipped two tenths.
