Fargo Breakout Allison Tolman Headed to Mindy Project for Arc? You Betcha!

Allison Tolman Mindy Project

Fargo‘s Allison Tolman is bound for somewhere far more desolate and dangerous than frigid Bemidji: the Manhattan dating scene.

The Emmy nominee has nabbed a guest-starring role on Fox’s The Mindy Project, TV Guide Magazine reports, where her character will go on a terrible blind date with Peter.

Tolman’s romance novelist Abby Berman will be around for two episodes, giving Adam Pally’s bro’d-out doc a chance to make amends.

Mindy is back for Season 3 on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 9:30/8:30.

  1. Joey Padron says:

Glad She’ll be back on TV soon. She was great on Fargo.

  2. Catie Coleman says:

Noooooooo!! That means Peter and Lauren break up!!! I love Tracey Wigfield and want her to stay on the show foreverrrrr! 😖😖

  3. Ray says:

Mindy Project’s casting directors have been working overtime this season to bring in the buzzworthy names. I’m not complaining, but it reminds me of the stunt casting NBC used to do on Friends and Will & Grace back in the day.

    • S. says:

Seriously? I love Allison Tolman, but how is she ever stunt casting? Stunt casting is having Britney Spears guest star. Allison’s a straight up talented actress whom most people haven’t heard of even if she did just get an Emmy nomination. You gotta watch Fargo to really be able to spot her. I looked up Fargo’s premiere numbers. It was considered ‘strong’ at 2.65 million and at one point got to 1.5 mil. Not exactly a stunt if TMP has higher ratings. That said, more people should be watching both TMP and Fargo.

  4. KC says:

Total stunt casting for a failing show

  5. I.R.E. says:

I think Allison needs to come back because we are losing too many young white females in this show very badly.
