Ian Ziering no longer is Steve Sanders. Now, “He is Sharknado.”
Tara Reid made that declaration during the pair’s visit to TVLine’s San Diego Comic-Con suite, where they talked up the splashy sequel to Syfy’s perfect social media storm of 2013.

In the video below, Ziering tells TVLine’s Michael Ausiello, “There’s a lot of anticipation, a lot of excitement” for Sharknado 2: The Second One , which premieres Wednesday, July 30 and finds his Finn once again braving a twister (or two) teeming with Great Whites and the like.
This time around, Reid’s character gains some “muscle,” she (sorta) says, while the non-stop action unspools in New York City. (Fun fact: Numerous scenes were filmed right around the corner from TVLine’s Times Square offices; we survived.)
So buzzy is the Sharknado fin-omenon that Syfy already greenlit a third movie. And as the Q&A winds down, Ziering and Reid mull ideas for the setting, with the latter seeming to be fixated on world-famous party beaches, hmm….
