Busfield will portray Franklin as a mentor of Crane’s who’s also involved in the “secret war” within the American Revolution, executive producer Mark Goffman tells the site. The role is recurring.
The actor has a few behind-the-scenes connections to Sleepy‘s production team: He and Goffman worked together on Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and he and executive producer Ken Olin were Thirtysomething co-stars.
