Duhamel has signed on to star opposite Dean Winters in the Breaking Bad creator’s straight-to-series CBS drama Battle Creek, TVLine has learned.

Co-written by Gilligan and House‘s David Shore (who will serve as showrunner), the project follows two disparate detectives, FBI Special Agent Milton Chamberlain (Duhamel) and Battle Creek PD, Det. Russ Agnew (Winters), as they labor to clean up the semi-mean streets of Battle Creek, Michigan, in the face of a complete lack of resources.
The cast also includes Kal Penn as Det. Fontanelle, Janet McTeer as Commander Guziewicz, and Edward Fordham Jr. as Det. Aaron Funkhauser.
Bryan Singer is set to direct the premiere.
This marks Duhamel’s first major series role since wrapping his five-season run on NBC’s Las Vegas.
