Rashida Jones is keeping it in the family with her new TBS pilot.
Jones’ real-life parents, Quincy Jones and Peggy Lipton, have been tapped to play her on-screen parents in Tribeca, our sister site Deadline reports.
The single-camera comedy casts Jones as Angie Tribeca, an LAPD vet who is now part of an outlandish group of investigators that — against all odds — manage to actually get their jobs done.
Alfred Molina will guest-star on the pilot as handwriting expert Dr. Edelweiss, and could recur should the pilot be ordered to series. Lisa Kudrow is also reportedly in talks to appear.
Steve Carrell, who co-wrote the pilot with wife Nancy Carrell, is set to direct.
