ABC’s Astronaut Wives Club is a go for take-off.
The network on Monday gave the historical drama about star-travelers’ spouses a straight-to-series order, even before production had begun on the pilot it ordered in January.

Club is penned by Gossip Girl‘s Stephanie Savage and follows a group of women who support their star-bound husbands during the 1960s space race.
The project is based on Lily Koppel’s 2013 bestseller and will be executive-produced by Savage and her Gossip Girl colleague Josh Schwartz as well as Len Goldstein (Hart of Dixie) and Michael London (Milk).
The series’ 10-episode run is slated to debut this summer.
