HBO Sets Premiere Dates for Game of Thrones, Veep and Others; The Normal Heart Due in May

Game of Thrones Season 4 Premiere DateWinter is coming, as usual, in spring.

HBO announced on Thursday at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that Game of Thrones Season 4 will premiere on Sunday, April 6, at 9/8c. The first official and long-awaited trailer will debut this Sunday, before the series premiere of True Detective, which stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.

Leading out of GoT‘s return will be Season 3 of Veep, starring Emmy winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Paired with Veep during the 10 o’clock hour is Silicon Valley, a new comedy from Mike Judge (Office Space) which looks at the modern-day epicenter of the high-tech gold rush. The cast includes Thomas Middleditch, TJ Miller, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, Martin Starr, Josh Brener, Christopher Evan Welch and Amanda Crew.

HBO also announced that Season 2 of Vice will launch Friday, March 14 at 11 pm, while Ryan Murphy’s much-anticipated TV-movie adaptation of The Normal Heart is set for a May premiere.
