Made in Jersey‘s Janet Montgomery will next find herself Bewitched in Massachusetts.
The actress has snagged the lead role in WGN America’s first scripted drama series Salem, TVLine has learned.
Additionally, Nikita‘s Xander Berkeley will co-star in the witch-themed project, which is set in the 17th century and explores the town’s infamous witch trials.
Montgomery plays lead sorceress Mary Sibley, the confident and powerful wife of the ancient, ailing but very wealthy George Sibley. Berkeley, meanwhile, will recur as Magistrate Hale, a politician who believes in pomp and circumstance.
The cast also includes Revenge‘s Ashley Madekwe as Mary’s alluring and ageless right-hand woman and Fringe‘s Seth Gabel as a local aristocrat who oversees the witch hunts.
Salem, from Star Trek vet Brannon Braga, is scheduled to debut on WGN America in Spring 2014.
