Ratings: Talent Show Hits Low, MasterChef Rises

America's Got Talent - Season 8 America’s Got Talent‘s first results show of the season drew 10.3 million total viewers and a 2.3 rating — down 8 and 21 percent week-to-week, hitting a season low in the demo.

But, NBC notes, the show matched the rating of last summer’s first results show. So there’s that.

Leading out of AGT, NBC’s Camp (4.2 mil/1.1) ticked down another two tenths in the demo but tied a CSI rerun for the 10 o’clock “win.” So there’s that.

Elsewhere, CBS’ Big Brother was flat week-to-week, with 6.3 mil/2.2…. Fox’s MasterChef (5.5 mil/2.3) inched up a tenth to tie AGT for the nightly demo win…. and ABC’s The Lookout was flat at 2.9 mil/0.8.

I think it’s confusing that AGT runs a rerun before actual live show.’

I LOVE Masterchef. It’s hands-down my favorite show. (Hell’s Kitchen is a close second; I seem to have a thing for Gordon Ramsay) **Spoiler Alert** Almost had a heart attack last night when it looked like Jessie was the one leaving!!! I hope she wins.

    • DoctorWhoFanatic! says:

Rooting for her too, but was sad to see Bri go over Jordan or Krissy

      • Tyler says:

Agree. Why aren’t the negative personalities leaving, such as Krissy and Natasha? The only reason I’m watching this show is because i want an underdog like Luka to win. I don’t care for the nasty comments that come out of Krissy’s mouth. You know, on MasterChef Australia–the contestants SUPPORT each other even though they’re competing against each other. On MasterChef U.S.–the contestants are constantly tearing each other down for no reason at all except that they’re vile people. Was it really necessary for Krissy to call Bri a b!tch?! IMO it’s the other way around.

        • Aeol says:

I actually don’t have a huge problem with Krissy…I was disturbed when she called Bri a b—-, but she’s been a strong competitor from the beginning and they’ve been alienating her from the beginning, so I don’t think she should have to go overboard trying to win their affection at this point. Even in team challenges, her contributions are usually the strongest (homemade pasta in the wilderness!!), and she kicks *** in pressure tests, so for the others to claim she’s not a threat because they think they are better cooks is a joke IMO. It’s a competition, let the best chef win! Not saying the best chef is Krissy btw. :) just saying she IS a strong chef, the others just don’t like her as a person, which is not the point of this show! I love Luca, but more often than not his food is a mess. He is absolutely the weakest chef left.

The America’s Got Talent results show was so ridiculously bloated – and Nick’s heavy handed hamminess reached an all time ham factor with his whole “we will announce it after this break” rountines – what a complete waste of an hour –

    • Ben says:

Forgot to mention how the show was so bloated that they ran out of time – as Nick was announcing the final act to go to the semi finals, they were showing the closing credits – maybe they could have trimmed the whole silly intro routine having those random kids discuss the judges, and then dressing up as each judge – ugh what was the point? Not sure why they could not focus on the actual contestants

    • Ann says:

Agreed. They could definitely trim the show down to 30 minutes…or less.

  4. Camp is so good! How come no one watches it? It’s really sweet and funny !
