Exclusive: The CW's Reign Adds Big Love Alum

For Shawn Doyle, the forecast calls for Reign — as in a role on The CW’s freshman drama bowing in October.

TVLine has learned exclusively that the Big Love alum has been cast as Claude, uncle to the teenaged Mary, Queen of Scots (Teen Wolf‘s Adelaide Kane).

Described as seductive and libertine, Claude shows up at French court shortly after Mary’s own arrival to advise his niece on matters both political and personal. Along the way he will rouse trouble between the King and the Queen of France.

Charismatic, amusing, worldly and powerful, Claude is a master of sexual intrigue, but is also capable of savage retribution — and he’ll do anything it takes to maintain his power and position at Court.

In addition to his run as Big Love‘s Joey Henrickson, Doyle’s more recent TV credits include CBS’ Vegas and the Canadian series Lost Girl and Endgame.

Reign debuts Thursday, Oct. 10 at 9/8c.
