Pilot News: James Spader Joins NBC's Blacklist

NBC's The Blacklist SpoilersJames Spader has been tapped to star in NBC’s drama pilot The Blacklist, per our sister site Deadline.

Penned by Jon Bokenkamp (Perfect Stranger) and exec-produced by John Eisendrath (Alias), John Fox and John Davis, the prospective series follows Red (Spader), the world’s most wanted criminal who suddenly turns himself in and offers to give up anyone he’s ever worked with. The catch: He’ll only work with a new FBI agent (played by Blue BloodsMegan Boone), one with whom he has no known connection.

Spader, who picked up three Emmys for his work as Alan Shore on ABC’s The Practice and subsequent spin-off Boston Legal, most recently appeared on The Office as a pseudo-successor to Steve Carell.

Ryan Eggold (90210) joined Blacklist earlier this week as the husband of Boone’s leading lady.
