Scoot McNairy, who appeared in three episodes of Bones as a spy-slash-informant working for Booth and Brennan, has been cast opposite Lee Pace in AMC’s drama pilot Halt & Catch Fire, TVLine has learned.
Set in the early 1980s, Halt & Catch Fire — from Breaking Bad‘s Mark Johnson — chronicles the personal computing boom through the eyes of a visionary (Pace), an engineer (McNairy) and a prodigy whose innovations directly confront the corporate behemoths of the time. Their personal and professional partnership will be challenged by greed and ego while charting the changing culture in Texas’ Silicon Prairie.
McNairy’s character, Gordon Clark, is an everyman who put his brilliance on the shelf because of the failure of his own bold business endeavor several years ago. He took a big chance but it crashed and burned; it’s left him frustrated, unsure of himself, and unfulfilled.
Chris Cantwell and Chris Rogers penned the script and will serve as EPs alongside Johnson and Melissa Bernstein.
McNairy’s post-Bones gigs include roles in big-screen dramas Killing Them Softly and Argo.Follow @MichaelAusiello
