Dexter Update: Walking Dead Bad Guy to Play Assassin Gunning for [Spoiler]

gomezSerial killers are notorious for keeping secrets well hidden, but we’ve managed to get a few details about Nick Gomez‘s upcoming guest spot on Dexter.

Gomez will play hit man Javier Guzman on the Showtime drama, TVLine has learned.

The character — who goes by the nickname El Sapo — will find himself frustrated when Debra gets in between him and his target, which probably isn’t great news for Dexter’s sis. (But after last season’s finale, maybe El Sapo should stay outta her way.)

Walking Dead fans will recognize Gomez as the alpha-male convict Rick cleaved through the skull. The actor’s TV credits also include Treme, Wendy and Dawson’s Creek.

Good news but you still aren’t getting the scoop I want. Will Yvonne Strahovski be back this season? Can’t possibly imagine Dexter’s final season being Hannah free! She has to come back.

    • Ashley says:

It could be a coincidence but the same day Jennifer Carpenter tweeted that they were having their first table read, Yvonne Strahovski tweeted that she was back in L.A.

    • JennyS says:

I think they may be trying to keep her return a secret. With Julia Stiles, they were adamant about her not returning. But considering how many spoilers tend to leak for this show, it will be almost impossible to keep her return a secret.

  2. Paul says:

According to imdb, which has been wrong before but is usually pretty accurate, she will be in the whole season. Yvonne Strahovski is listed for 22 episodes of Dexter. She was only in 10 episodes last year. There’s your scoop.

    • JennyS says:

And those credits have been on imdb for 8 days now. That’s a pretty long time for her to to be listed on there if it’s wrong.

  3. Daya says:

Sorry, but I have a hard time being afraid of a guy who calls himself “The Toad”. Get back to me when he goes for something a little more fierce, like “El Escorpion”!

  4. Hibsta says:

I squealed like a pig when I read Walking Dead Bad Guy, hoping t was gonna be The Governor. Alas it’s not him, still can’t wait to see how this guy fares on Dexter, maybe he’ll be the guy Dexter gets caught killing by someone who’s not Deb

  5. DarkDefender says:

Hope he makes it to Dexter’s table. I can deal with a dead Dexter in the finale (beats a long drawn out trial), but I can’t deal with a dead Deb.

As Season 8 will see the end of Dexter it will be interesting to see how much of the plot and cast details are leaked out. If Yvonne Strahovski doesn’t make an appearance she will be the only Dexter villain to have left the show in one piece – having escaped prison (with the scripwriters help) and retiring to….Argentina ? Can’t help thinking that as Yvonne is now back in L.A. rather than taking a vacation after her Broadway success – she must be on call for something !
