Cougar Town‘s Brian Van Holt will guest-star on the procedural this fall, CBS announced Monday, playing the ex-husband of Elisabeth Shue’s crime scene investigator Julie Finlay.

TVLine has learned that the former couple’s reunion will take place in Season 13’s eighth episode — the same installment that, as previously reported, features Dylan Walsh and Sarah Joy Brown.

• American Horror Story alum Morris Chestnut has joined Nurse Jackies upcoming fifth season, Deadline reports. He’ll play a former Army medic who joins the staff as a trauma doctor.

Demian Bichir (Weeds), Annabeth Gish (Pretty Little Liars) and Ted Levine (Monk) have been cast opposite Diane Kruger in FX’s drama pilot The Bridge. Adapted from the Scandinavian series i Bron, the project centers on one American and one Mexican detective (Kruger and Bichir, respectively) who are working together to find a serial killer operating on both sides of the border.

• NBC has given the green light to Get Out Alive, a new high-octane competition series headlined by Man vs. Wild‘s Bear Grylls.

• Syfy has ordered a fourth season of the reality competition Face Off, to air in 2013. The Season 3 finale airs Oct. 30.

• Cartoon Network has announced its plan to reboot The Tom and Jerry Show. Each episode will be comprised of two 11-minute shorts and will occasionally break away from a contemporary suburban setting to include more fantastic worlds such as a medieval castle or a mad scientist’s lab.
