UPDATE: Executive producer Carlton Cuse (Lost) later announced on Twitter that Max Thieriot (The Pacifier) has been cast as Norma Bates’ other son, Dylan, adding: “Max is a phenomenal, smart and magnetic actor.”

From executive producers Cuse and Kerry Ehrin (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood), Bates Motel (slated to bow in 2013) is a contemporary look into Norman’s formative years, which includes his storied relationship with his mother, to be played by the previously cast Vera Farmiga.
