On TV this Friday: America’s Next Top Models bare (almost) all, a cavalcade of stars Stand Up for cancer awareness, BBC America takes Battlestar Galactica way the frak back and The Wire creator David Simon spends some Real Time With Bill Maher. Here are nine programs to watch for tonight.
8 pm Stand Up to Cancer (All Major Networks) | The third cancer-research fundraiser’s glittering guest list includes Tom Hanks, Sofia Vergara, Eric Stonestreet, Ray Romano, Maura Tierney, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon and Gwyneth Paltrow. The commercial-free hour will also feature performances by Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, Alicia Keys and Coldplay.
8 pm America’s Next Top Model: College Edition (The CW) | Rob Evans joins the co-eds – who undergo makeovers – for an a partially nekkid photo session. (I’m sure it’ll be “tastefully nude,” which makes it legit. Because nothing screams high art like college girls frolicking in their birthday suits.)
8 pm Battlestar Galactica Miniseries (BBC America) | Missing yourself some Baltar? Longing to hear Adama’s rousing funeral speech again? Grab your gun and bring in the cat, because BBC America’s airing Parts 1 and 2 of the rebooted series’ backdoor pilot, back-to-back. So say we all!
8:30 pm Jessie (Disney Channel) | Oh, baby! Ravi notices Mr. Kipling acting in a very peculiar manner.
9 pm Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse (TBS) | Marcus and Angela spend an entire weekend together to improve their marriage — how do you think it turns out? (The conclusion of the two-parter airs at 9:30.)
9 pm Boss (Starz) | Kane cuts off some longtime members of his political machine – and then Meredith and Emma give him similar treatment.
10 pm Strike Back (Cinemax) | A set-up at a soccer stadium soon becomes a crazy chase through Cape Town, where Stonebridge is detoured by a familiar face.
10 pm Lost Girl (Syfy) | In the wake of loss, secrets are revealed and Bo realizes how far she’ll have to go in the coming battle.
10 pm Real Time With Bill Maher (HBO) | Maher interviews The Wire/Treme creator David Simon.
