Pilot News: CSI: Miami's Eva La Rue Joins Mandy Moore's ABC Comedy

CSI: Miami will be down one investigator if renewed for an eleventh season, as Eva La Rue — who currently stars in CBS’ on-the-bubble cop drama — has been cast in ABC’s Untitled Mandy Moore Project.

The half-hour comedy centers on newlyweds Annie (Moore) and Ben (Traffic Light’s Nelson Franklin), who open a restaurant in Annie’s hometown, bringing her closer to her needy and high maintenance family. La Rue will play Annie’s older sister.

The actress joins the previously cast Stockard Channing (The West Wing), Kurt Fuller (Better With You), Erinn Hayes (Worst Week) and Majandra Delfino (Roswell).

Though pilot roles are typically in second position to an actors’ current gig, this casting is in first position, which means that La Rue would definitely be bidding farewell CSI: Miami should CBS order another season.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.
