Exclusive: True Blood Hunk Bites Into Juicy Private Practice Role

A new man is about to enter Amelia’s life on ABC’s Private Practice — for better or perhaps for worse.

Wes Brown, whose TV credits include the role of True Blood‘s Luke McDonald and NBC’s Trauma, is joining the Thursday-night drama for a four-episode arc, TVLine has learned exclusively, playing Ryan, a handsome stranger who will figure into Amelia’s ongoing addiction storyline. And not necessarily in a good way.

Private Practice boss Shonda Rhimes didn’t have to reach too far into her Rolodex to find Brown — he plays a soldier suspected of murder in the pilot for Scandal, her midseason “fixer” series starring Kerry Washington.

Private Practice premieres its new season on Sept. 29; Brown first appears in Episode 6.
