Leven Rambin's All My Children Return Nixed Due to Hunger Games Playing

All My Children has in recent weeks welcomed back Josh Duhamel (as Leo), Thorsten Kaye (Zach), Esta TerBlanche (Gillian) and Cady McClain (Dixie) — and more alumni encores are on the way. But sadly, Leven Rambin’s participation in the first Hunger Games film has precluded Lily Montgomery’s anticipated homecoming.

“Unfortunately, there was a scheduling conflict with The Hunger Games, which is filming in North Carolina,” the actress told Soap Opera Digest of her scrapped return to Pine Valley. “Sad, sad, sad! But I’m pleased that I was able to take part in the 40th anniversary show last year.”

Rambin — who last TV season appeared on One Tree Hill, Grey’s Anatomy, and CSI: Miami — has for the past several months been hard at work playing Glimmer, a badass tribute (aka a teen battling for his or her life in a televised life-or-death tournament), in the hotly anticipated film adaptation of the Hunger Games novels. (In fact, landing the plum gig forced her to vacate a recurring role in the upcoming season of HBO’s Hung.) Rambin wrapped her work as Glimmer late last week, and AMC is taping its broadcast finale today, Aug. 30.

All My Children‘s ABC swan song is set to air Friday, Sept. 23.
