The TVLine-Up: TV Worth Watching This Week

Coming to your TV screen this week: TV’s Terminator targets Alphas, a “lost” episode of Happy Endings, and twisty/twisted episodes of Torchwood and Doctor Who. As but a supplement to the fresh features and original reporting TVLine has coming your way, here are 33 programs to keep on your radar.

8/7c Eureka
(Syfy) | The Department of Defense sends a “relationship auditor” to see what’s what with Carter and Allison.
9 pm American Ninja Warrior (NBC) | Broadcast premiere: Apparently it’s like Wipeout, but G4-ier…?
9 pm The Closer (TNT) | All eyes are on Sanchez as Raydor ramps up her audit of Brenda’s department.
9 pm The Lying Game (ABC Family) | Still posing as Sutton, parts of Emma’s personality begin to slip out – and Sutton’s friends LIKE it!
9 pm Top Gear (BBC America) | The season opener includes a look at a South African alternative to the Hummer.
10 pm Alphas (Syfy) | She be back! Onetime Terminator Summer Glau guest stars as a super-crafty alpha who makes MacGyver look like a lightweight.
10 pm Rizzoli & Isles (TNT) | What brings the gals to Salem? A witch hunt, of course.

8 pm Pretty Little Liars
(ABC Family) | (Finally?) at their wits’ ends, the girls confide in Dr. Sullivan (Annabeth Gish) about “A”; Betty Buckley (Eight Is Enough) guests as Hannah’s grandma.
9 pm America’s Got Talent (NBC) | It’s semifinals time! Come Wednesday, four out of tonight’s 12 acts will be announced as moving ahead.
10 pm Combat Hospital (ABC) | ABC summer-TV worlds collide! Rookie Blue‘s Camille Sullivan (aka “Jo”) guest-stars as an army chaplain.

8 pm Buried Treasure (Fox) |
In this new series, Antiques Roadshow alumni Leigh and Leslie Keno value knickknacks in people’s homes, then help them sell ’em. (I know, Fox’s summer lineup this year was a bit… wonky.)
9 pm Ghost Hunters (Syfy) | The first in a new slew of episodes features a Rhode Island home spooked by a stray black cat. The horror.
9 pm Royal Pains (USA Network) | Hank treats an ill nanny (Californication‘s Madeline Zima), Divya has her date with Dr. Van Dyke (My Boys‘ Kyle Howard), and Paige’s secret is at risk of being exposed.
9:30 pm Happy Endings (ABC) | In this “lost,” never-seen episode, Jane and Alex’s sibling rivalry is renewed, while Dave dates a lacrosse coach with an unusual quirk.
10 pm Damages (DirecTV) | Patty makes a surprising move in her case against the French pharmaceutical company; Erickson visits Afghanistan to confront Sanchez.
10 pm Top Chef: Just Desserts (Bravo) | Season 2 premiere: I keep thinking about the “light bulb” moment when they cooked up this spin-off: “It’s like Top Chef, but — stick with me now – it’s just desserts!” And just like that, Vinny from development gets a 5% salary bump.

8 pm The Big Bang Theory
(CBS) | The girls take Sheldon dancing.
8 pm Community (NBC) | Faux clip show! The gang reflects on the St. Patrick’s Day parade, that time in the Old West town, and other great memories. Fun fact: The cast shot all the flashback vignettes in one long day, making a bazillion costume changes.
8 pm Rising: Rebuilding Ground Zero (Discovery) | One of the first of many pieces of programming to mark the 10-year anniversary of 9/11, this docu chronicles the construction of One World Trade at the site of the New York City terror attacks.
9 pm Burn Notice (USA Network) | When Michael’s plan to infiltrate a group of hijackers backfires, will Mom have to save the day?
10 pm Rookie Blue (ABC) | Chris and Dov exchange words about Gail.
10:30 pm Louie (FX) | Not to be outdone by Damages‘ John Goodman, Louie has his own adventure in Afghanistan.

9 pm Supernatural
(The CW) | When Castiel tells the boys about the war in Heaven, Bobby suspects he’s holding something back.
10 pm Haven (Syfy) | A drowning exposes a strange compound on the outskirts of Haven, from which kids have mysteriously gone missing.
10 pm Torchwood: Miracle Day (Starz) | Jack must face off against a man he long has thought was dead. No, Abe Vigoda does not guest-star.

7 pm NFL Preseason Football (NBC) |
It’s my Jets against that other team that’s from Jersey but acts like they’re based out of New York.
9 pm Doctor Who (BBC America) | This episode – during which someone accidentally saves Adolph Hitler’s life – has caused a bit of a fuhrer.
9 pm William & Catherine: A Royal Romance (Hallmark) | This TV-movie reminds us that before we were graced by Kim Kardashian and Kris whatshisname, there was this fairy-tale wedding.

9 pm MTV Video Music Awards |
Katy Perry enters the ceremony with the most nods, while the big question is how Gaga might one-up last year’s meat dress.
9 pm True Blood (HBO) | Sookie musters all her powers (and then some) to save a loved one; Alcide faces a moral dilemma; a band of vampires seek to cause massive havoc.
9 pm Leverage (TNT) | Sterling — yes, Sterling! — hires Nate’s team for a gig. I smell a rat….
10 pm Breaking Bad (AMC) | Walt takes a big gamble, while Hank enlists Walter Jr. in his investigation.
10:30 pm Entourage (HBO) | Eric is wowed by both Nikita‘s Melinda Clarke and Big Banger Johnny Galecki — but in very different ways.
