Kyle MacLachlan and Paige Turco have landed key roles in the Law & Order: SVU episode that will rip from the headlines and serve up a fictionalized riff on the Arnold Schwarzenegger/illegitimate child brouhaha.

Specifically, Twin Peaks/Desperate Housewives alum MacLachlan will play Andrew Raines, a powerful politician whose family is embroiled in a headline-grabbing scandal. This marks MacLachlan’s second SVU visit, having previously guested in a 2004 episode in which he played a doctor who avenged his son’s death.
And while I had earlier pitched that Sherilyn Fenn play the politico’s Mrs., I am just as happy to report that Paige Turco (The Agency, NYPD Blue) instead has been cast as the “charming, charismatic and fiercely protective” Kathleen Raines.
SVU — which has been making headlines of its own, with numerous cast changes — will unleash its 13th season on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 10/9c.
