And HBO’s love affair with Ricky Gervais continues…
The cable giant announced Tuesday the pickup of Gervais’ BBC comedy Life’s Too Short. This marks the fourth collaboration between HBO and the Office funnyman.
Short, which doesn’t even premiere across the pond until later this year, is a faux documentary that follows Harry Potter‘s Warwick Davis as a heightened version of himself on a journey back into the spotlight. The observational comedy — which will bow on HBO in 2012 — is described as a cross between The Office and Extras, with cameos from the likes of Johnny Depp, Steve Carell and Sting.
Gervais previously teamed with HBO on the aforementioned Extras as well as The Ricky Gervais Show and this year’s standup special.
