CBS’ Thursday lineup performed solidly this week, posting almost across-the-board gains. The Big Bang Theory kicked off the night with 12.13 million total viewers and a 3.8 rating, numbers on par with its last fresh ep. Rules of Engagement led out of that with double-digit gains (albeit versus last week’s repeat-impaired outing), delivering 9.5 million viewers and a 2.8.
In the 9 o’clock hour, CSI drew 13.6 million viewers (up 9 percent) and a 3.1 rating (up 15 percent), and come 10 pm The Mentalist (14.4 mil/3.0) saw a small uptick in the demo.
Elsewhere this Thursday:
* With 21.73 million total viewers, American Idol‘s results show was down 13 percent week-to-week, while its demo rating of 6.6 marked a 20 percent tumble. Fox notes, though, that A) broadcast TV this Thursday faced “significant competition from NBA basketball on cable” and B) Idol was up 6 percent in viewers (and nearly tied its demos) versus the same night last year.
* Bones enjoyed a 10 percent bump in audience (to just shy of 11 million viewers) and matched its most recent demos with a time slot-leading 3.4. Oh, and how fun does next next week’s episode look?
