Critics' Choice TV Award Winners Include Stars from Fringe, Justified and Cougar Town

Mad woman Christina Hendricks and Justified big baddie Margo Martindale were the very first winners announced at the inaugural Critics’ Choice Television Awards, held Monday in Los Angeles. In a tie, the ladies shared the honor of Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

It will, however, take quite a journey for the all-but-confirmed bachelor to get there, one that will revisit his past with Robin in “complicated and juicy” fashion, executive producer Craig Thomas tells TVLine. An uncanny resemblance isn’t the only thing Barney Stinson’s long-lost father (played by John Lithgow) shares with Dexter‘s legendary Trinity Killer. “We started to get worried because there are some similarities to his character on Dexter,” reveals How I Met Your Mother cocreator Carter Bays, pointing out that much like Trinity, the elusive Jerome Whitaker “is a family man who lives in the suburbs.”
