Backstage at the Golden Globes: Who Said What?

Matt LeBlanc, EpisodesOn playing "Matt LeBlanc":"I don't mind being the brunt of the joke if they're good jokes -- and thus far, they've been good jokes."On the undying Friends movie topic:"I don't see that happening.... Sex and the City was a single-camera show, like a film.... Friends was about this finite period in six people's lives. Your imagination... is going to do more justice than a movie."

You know what this year’s Golden Globe award winners said on stage, thanking him, her and the other guy, but what did they each share backstage after grabbing hold of their statuette? SEE WHO SAID WHAT!

Question: Got any Grey’s Anatomy spoilers? It has been a while. —Sami
Ausiello: It’s been way too long, Sami. Way. Too. Long. Here’s your long overdue scoopage: Little Sofia threatens to derail Callie’s big Valentine’s Day surprise for Arizona on Feb. 9, but it’s not the tyke’s fault; it’s Mark’s. Callie asks him to look after their daughter but he’s got plans of his own, so she tries to pawn babysitting duties off on the other docs. I’m guessing it all works out because the episode ends with Callie escorting a blindfolded Arizona to [spoiler].

Enlightened's Laura Dern on Season 2 Hopes: 'It's Your Moral Duty as an American to Watch'

DW copy 2

It’s not your average TV show that draws its inspirations from I Love Lucy, Norma Rae, and the Occupy Wall Street movement, but that pretty much sums up Laura Dern’s vision for Enlightened, her HBO comedy that last week wrapped its first season and snagged two Golden Globes nominations — for Best Comedy Series and Best Actress in a Comedy Series. Dern, who co-created, executive produces, and stars in the series, caught up with TVLine about her vision for Season 2 (if HBO, in fact, orders more episodes), the double-standards that still get lobbed at complicated female characters, and why people who were annoyed by the show’s pilot episode are actually its ideal audience. …READ MORE

Golden Globe Nominees React! Who Said What?

Callie Thorne (Necessary Roughness) - Best Actress in a Drama

"It's a really big deal for little Callie Thorne. [Laughs] I spent the night at my mother's and was just dead asleep with my cell phone trilling with text messages and also trying to ring at the same time. … I was sleeping in the living room. I leaped out of the living room, and I jumped on my momma's bed. [Laughs] I scared her so badly. Basically, when she realized what was happening, we both started jumping on the bed."

Some of TV’s biggest stars and producers got an extra special wake-up call this Thursday morning in the form of a Golden Globe nomination. Though it was bright and early, many couldn’t contain their surprise and joy at receiving a tip of the hat from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. But the excitement is just beginning …READ MORE & VIEW GALLERY

Enlightened Season (Series?) Finale: 5 Reasons HBO Needs to Renew This Laura Dern Vehicle

enlightened_dern_DW-1

True confession: I’ve never truly forgiven HBO for canceling The Comeback — Lisa Kudrow’s scathing examination of the Hollywood machine and unflinching/unsettling look at basic human insecurity — that lasted for one brief, dazzling, and painfully hilarious season back in 2005. (All together now: “Note to self: After a long day at work, I don’t wanna see that!”)

Flash forward to 2011 — and more specifically to Monday night’s season finale of the network’s equally brilliant/wince-inducing/honest/infuriating Enlightened …READ MORE
