Gracepoint: Who Killed Danny?
Det. Ellie Miller
The heart and soul of the series — if she’s the killer, then we’ve been wasting our time the past 10 weeks. Odds: 1000-1
Det. Emmer Carver
OK, so he happened to show up in Gracepoint just prior to Danny’s death — and a serial killer went free under his watch at his last post. But like his colleague Det. Miller, he’d be an absurd choice of killer. Odds: 500-1
Tom Miller
Ellie’s son has been acting verrrry suspiciously — disappearing into the woods and destroying his computer hard drive. That said, producers of Fox’s Broadchurch remake have pretty much ruled him out as the guilty party. Odds: 200-1
Renee Clemons
The ambitious big-city reporter has made plenty of enemies covering the Solano case, but nothing about her behavior suggests she’d have killed a child in order to create her next big story. Odds: 150-1
Chloe Solano
Danny’s big sister has seemed genuinely shattered by his murder — and it’s unclear if she’s even got a driver’s license necessary for the disposal of a body. Odds: 100-1
Beth Solano
The grieving mother has never really been a person of interest in the case. But then again, with her marriage in crisis, her college dreams abandoned and an unexpected pregnancy in the mix, is it possible she snapped? (Probably not.) Odds: 75-1
Dean Iverson
Chloe’s boyfriend once brought Danny along to a coke deal — but that lapse in judgment aside, he actually seems like a fairly decent kid, no? Odds: 50-1
Gemma Fisher
Local innkeeper began an affair with Danny’s dad on the night of his death — and got Danny’s teenage sister wrapped up in a drug deal, too. Might she be taking extra special care of Det. Carver as a way to look less suspicious? Odds: 40-1
Susan Wright
Gracepoint’s creepiest old woman admitted she spent time smoking cigarettes next to Danny’s dead body — and absconded with his skateboard, too. But we’re not sure she’s got the physical strength required for this kind of crime. Odds: 25-1
Owen Burke
Ellie’s nephew has money problems and junkie-mom problems — and a career track as a local reporter that’s not exactly bursting with possibility. Is it possible he got himself (and Danny) into some kind of ugly trouble in between covering local school events and Gracepoint town board meetings? Odds: 15-1
Vince Novik
The assistant to Danny’s plumber dad admitted to taking the youth hunting — without his parents’ knowledge — and was spotted by (not 100 percent reliable) Susan rowing the body to shore. He’s still in a holding cell heading into the finale — which makes us think he’s more likely an accomplice than the person who took Danny’s life. Odds: 10-1
Mark Solano
Danny’s dad stalled the investigation by failing to come clean about his whereabouts the night of the murder and has exhibited a hot temper on more than one occasion. The police seem to have ruled him out — but we’re not so sure that’s the smart play. Odds: 6-1
Rev. Paul Coates
The recovering addict minister used to be in love with Danny’s mom, was accused of hitting Danny on a camping trip and has never accounted for his whereabouts the night of the murder. We’d almost crossed him off our list of suspects — until he creepily rubbed Beth’s back in Episode 9. Odds: 5-2
Joe Miller
Ellie’s husband hasn’t even been questioned by police in regard to Danny’s killing — but alarm bells went off in Gracepoint‘s penultimate episode after his exhausted wife asked what exactly he does all day. We all know something caused a rift between Tom and Danny in the weeks before the latter child’s death — and Tom can’t have destroyed his computer for no reason whatsoever. Add to that the prospect of Emmy winner Anna Gunn’s emotional collapse if she’s been sleeping with the enemy the whole time, and, well… this is where we’re placing our bet. Odds: 2-1
