Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay

Ratings: Bachelorette Premiere Ticks Down vs. 2016, Edged Out by The Voice

The Bachelorette opened Season 13 on Monday night with 5.7 million total viewers and a 1.8 demo rating (per finals), down 14 percent and two tenths from last year and marking the series’ lowest premiere numbers since at least 2010.

Opening ABC’s night, Dancing With the Stars (10.5 mil/1.8) matched last season’s final dance-off and was down just a tick year-over-year.

NBC’s The Voice (9.7 mil/2.0) led the night in the demo, matching its year-ago (10.3 mil/2.0) performance finale. Leading out of that, Running Wild (3.6 mil/0.9) matched its series low in the demo.

THE CW | Supergirl (2.13 mil/0.6) drew its best audience since March 27 and ticked up in the demo. Friday-bound Jane the Virgin (960 mil/0.3) rose 26 and 33 percent.

FOX | Gotham (2.9 mil/1.0) ticked up, Lucifer (3 mil/0.8) was steady.

CBS | Leading out of a Princess Diana special (6.2 mil/0.8), the latest Carpool Karaoke primetime special (4.2 mil/0.7) was down two tenths from its March 2016 edition.

Well Still Star Crossed is for sure dead, it’s lead in isn’t as strong anymore. I predict 3 million and .7 for its first episode.

I miss ABC summers, Mistresses, Rookie Blue, Wipeout, etc

Ouch, maybe Bachelorette should skip some of the dates XD

Nice for Gotham and Supergirl ticking up bad for Lucifer. FOX is dead wrong to put Lucifer in front of The Gifted. DWTS getting closer to The Voice but what a huge drop audience wise for The Bachelorette but a 1.8 demo is better than most of ABC’S scripted shows

Just like the gay series, ABC made a mistake with its liberal choice of a black chick!

Your comment is so backwards and goes against everything that this great nation stands for. Being black doesn’t automatically equate to being liberal. I would hope that being black or any ethnic background for that reason would equate to being HUMAN first. For instance…I just so happen to be black and conservative. This young woman comes from a Southern and Conservative family, and her father is a federal judge. Should black people be excluded based merely upon the fact that their skin color is black? That makes no logical sense. Most conservatives stand for having religious beliefs….and my prayer is that you experience true salvation and realize that your soul is in jeporady of being lost…as you fail to realize one of the greatest teaching the LORD JESUS ever taught…and that is to “Love your brother as yourself”.

I expected a limited amount of White men, 3 or 4. In previous episodes they would have that number of Black women or men for the White Bachelor or Bachelorette to choose. When I saw so many White men, something appeared to go very wrong. ABC made a big mistake in that decision. Rachel is lovely, but should have had a larger selection of handsome, prosperous, and loving Black males from whom to select. It would have been interesting to see exactly how they would charm and attract Rachel. Only 4% of Black women marry White men and over 1/2 of the males she has to choose from are White. So I’m disappointed for her and the viewers. It would have been interesting if the majority of her suitors were Black. Good luck Rachel! Hope you find love. Meanwhile, ABC should think about a sequel show on BET. This show would probably fair well with a better balance of suitors.
