Quotes of the Week: Riverdale, Veep, Quantico, Criminal Minds and More

TV viewers mourning the loss of some of their favorite shows (or celebrating the reverse cancellation of Timeless) have been put through the emotional ringer these last few days — so much so that we’ve decided you could all use an especially delightful batch of Quotes of the Week.

This time around, we’ve got a shout-out to The Wire on RiverdaleThe Flash throwing shade at a Star Trek spinoff and Twin Peaks and X-Files mentions courtesy of Full Frontal With Samantha Bee.

Also included in this week’s roundup: an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. kill order, a double dose of Seth Meyers and the least sexy talk imaginable from Silicon Valley and Baby Daddy.

Check out the attached gallery — or click here for direct access — then hit the comments and tell us if we missed any of your faves!

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

From Supernatural: I thought Ketch’s “I do it all the time” line about killing his friends was list-worthy this week. Or even the banter in the car when what’s-her-name was goading Dean about Mary.

What’s with all the shade-throwing at Ben and Baby Daddy? They’re over the top on purpose. That’s their schtick.

Last night’s Dr. Who (my QOTW)

Are you out of your mind?!?

“Yes, completely. But that’s not a recent thing.”

  4. TV Gord says:

Another Riverdale shout-out to Heroes, when the line, “Save the cheerleader, save the world”, was referred to over milkshakes at Pop Tate’s (Archie saving Cheryl).

I also liked when he said He would have gotten away with it too if it hadn’t been for the meddling kids!! Wahoo Scooby Doo reference!!

My favorite TV quote this week: Hawaii Five-O

The funny thing about Cisco’s line on The Flash about hating spin-offs is that The Flash is a spin-off of Arrow, since Barry appeared in two episodes of Arrow in the second season and the second one ended with him getting zapped by lightening after the particle accelerator exploded. Also Cisco and Caitlin appeared later on in the second season of Arrow and updated Felicty on Barry’s condition.

Woah, that’s not how *men* talk about women on Baby Daddy – that’s how *Ben* (a well established womanizing man-child) talks about women. Characters like Danny would *never* say that about a woman.
    Accuracy is important, kids.

  8. E. D. Boddy says:

People who believe in the first amendment certainly like Citizens United. The way this discussed is amusing to me because the notion that “legally, a corporation is a person” was first argued to me in college by an ultra-ultra-liberal who founded the Democrats club!

  9. Marissa L says:

I was expecting one of these from Last Man on Earth to be on the list: “See, babies are quite large but the openings they come out of are quite small. It’s a design flaw.” -Tandy; or Todd reading off the names of the boats: “Ship Happens…. The Sea Word… No Boats About It – that guy didn’t even try!”

Put through the *wringer, not ringer. As in the device used to squeeze (or ‘wring’, if you will) all the water out of clothes before hanging them up.

  11. Heather says:

I don’t like to be *that* person, but I’m going to…
The plural of monkey is monkeys.

Just going to leave that there. Do with it what you will.
