TVLine Items: Katy Perry Sings for SNL, The Tick Gets Premiere Date and More

Katy Perry will be returning to the Saturday Night Live stage for a third time as musical guest, joining host Dwayne Johnson for the May 20 season finale, NBC announced on Wednesday.

SNL resumes Season 42 on May 6 with host Chris Pine (Wonder Woman) and musical guest LCD Soundsystem, followed on May 13 by host Melissa “Spicey” McCarthy and musical guest HAIM.

* Season 4 of The Great British Baking Show will premiere on Friday, June 16 at 9/8c on PBS.

* Amazon’s reboot of the superhero comedy The Tick will debut on Friday, August 25. The show, which released its pilot last August, follows Arthur, an accountant with mental health issues, who discovers his city is owned by a supposedly-dead supervillain. Arthur finds help in the form of a blue-suited hero: The Tick. Check out the trailer below:

* TNT has released below a trailer for American Race (fka Race Card), its upcoming docuseries in which former NBA player Charles Barkley explores race from multiple perspectives.  American Race will premiere on Thursday, May 11 at 9 pm.

      I’m curious if the WGA goes on strike will they rebook them for the first few episodes of next season or just play it by ear and have them on when their schedules permit?
