Last Ship Thomas Calabro

The Last Ship Enlists Melrose Place Vet Thomas Calabro for 2018 Season

Former Melrose Place resident Thomas Calabro is boarding The Last Ship.

Calabro is set to recur next summer, during Season 5 of TNT’s summertime action-drama, in the role of Don Kinkaid, the general in charge of the modest Army that the United States has built up since the end of the plague, our sister site Deadline reports.

The Last Ship was renewed for the upcoming Season 4 midway through its summer 2016 run, then a month later had a fifth season added to that (to air in 2018). The two seasons are filming back-to-back.

In addition to his run as Dr. Michael Mancini on both the original Melrose and its 2009 revival, Calabro’s TV credits include episodes of Greek, NCIS, Glee, Castle and Hit the Floor.

Can’t wait for the new season of TLS. Thomas Calabro usually plays the heavy so here’s hoping his army general is a good guy because the last season, where the makes-no-sense-at-all capitol is placed in St. Louis and the new cabinet is cartoonishly evil, was terrible, kind of boring and looked like something the show’s writers just phoned in. Get ’em out to sea and let the action roll like it did in the first couple of seasons.

It was definitely an uneven season; the first two were better. But, they also had the original female lead for the first two, and not a cookie cutter love interest surgically inserted as they did in S3. Replacing the capitol didn’t bother me, but I agree that having the entire cabinet twirling their evil cartoon mustaches was a bit much.

She has had one of the best careers in tv over the past 30 years working steady with Melrose, Ally McBeal, According to Jim and Two and a half Men. Most people are Lucky to be on one long running show. She has been on one after the other. Impressive.
