Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Nathan Fillion's Faux Cop Will Give You Grinder Flashbacks — Watch Sneak Peek

Somewhere, Rob Lowe’s old legal briefs are bunching up.

In tonight’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine (8/7c, Fox), Castle‘s Nathan Fillion guest-stars as a TV sleuth who thinks his experience catching perps on the small screen qualifies him to solve actual crimes. In other words, he’s basically playing the P.I. version of Lowe’s late, great Grinder “lawyer” Dean Sanderson — and we are here for it.

As previewed in the exclusive clip above, the episode finds Jake and Rosa investigating a burglary case on the set of their favorite Law & Order-esque series. Their initial excitement about being in the presence of Fillion’s Mark Devereaux quickly gives way to utter disdain when the wannabe sleuth assumes the role of chief interrogator.

Press PLAY above and then hit the comments with an answer to this question: Which series did the clip make you long for more — The Grinder or Castle?

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

I miss The Grinder. I loved that show.

  2. M. says:

So, as soon as he’s not playing Castle anymore he suddenly can wear the blue gloves? Interesting…

    • Ellen says:

      Haters gonna hate. Lol

      • M. says:

It wasn’t hating, it was merely stating facts.
Have a wonderful evening fellow tv-lover!

        • H. says:

Just for info… I don’t know if they exist everywhere buf there is gloves with no-allergic material. Maybe not all the set have them.
Btw… haters gonna hate. Move on. Save the good memory of that show and spread love in all the world. It is already full of hate. :)

He also managed to lose the weight once Castle got cancelled. The weight loss makes hum look 10 yewrs younger.

  3. Joey Padron says:

  6. Ben says:

    I miss castle

  7. Evan says:

That whole episode seemed to be a summation of the alleged behind the scenes stories on Castle. Female co star becomes more popular so main actor causes trouble?

    • georgee says:

And she won 3 People Choice Awards to his 2. I think the fans really did like her. What was the real reason ABC fired her? Go back to Castles season 3/1 when Rick was in the room of mirrors. Which one is real. The one with the bad story line, the budget cut one, they only cut the budget if you were female, the mirror where they could not get along with each other, him sending her to her dressing room crying. Just pick the mirror of your choice. We had a ABC reporter who interviewed the new president right after the ladies march in Washington Jan 22,he ask Trump if he had heard them, my question is did ABC hear them.

      • Regina says:

Nathan also won three People’s Choice awards. So that argument is moot. He’s been working in Hollywood on several projects we’ve seen, with more coming out soon. He’s doing what he wants to do. She’s doing what she wants to do. So how about we let the whole “who liked who better” & “what REALLY happened” conspiracy theories die? They both have moved on, it’s time the Castle fandom did too.

      • Bad Robot says:

Get it straight. NF won PCA’s in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016. SK won in 2014, 2015 and 2016. If you need to make it a competition, at least be honest about it.
